Reid/Peyton Win First Tournament

There are few better ways to spend a day than on the golf course with clear, sunny skies. That was the scene Monday at Inverness Country Club when Paul Reid and Andrew Peyton won the first tournament of the year in a playoff. This year’s Stableford Pro-Pro had every aspect of a great day on the course, full of camaraderie, friendly competition, and even a little extra golf.

This event is an 18-hole Team Stableford event with teams comprised of two Section PGA Professionals. Points are awarded individually for scores using a modified Stableford scoring table, and cumulative scoring for both players counts on every hole. The team with the highest combined point total is the winner.

At the end of play, Reid/Peyton and Gary Christian/Ron Stromeyer both had 72 total team points. These two teams went back out on the course to play the 18th hole for the playoff, and in the end, Reid and Peyton were victorious.

Christian and Peyton led the day with the highest number of birdies at six and five, respectively. Each of these birdies contributed three points to their respective team totals.

While those two teams were battling it out for first, the rest of the players had an opportunity to meet with our tournament sponsor StickX’s local representative. They also had the opportunity to try out Push Through 30’s “Electro-Muscle Stimulation” demos.

Curtis Ohrn/Cole Henry and Jeff Jordan/Elliot Jones tallied 68 points each to tie for third place. Closely behind them, in a three-way tie for fifth place, Ryan McLean/Dominic Diaz, Noah Martino/Elaine Wood, and Thomas Luther/Kelly Welsh all scored 67 points. Jordan Debonis/Zachary Weaver scored 64 points, and Trevor McCord/Daniel Alldredge scored 63.

Thank you to Inverness C. C. and our host PGA Professional Kelly Welsh for hosting this fun event!
