PELHAM, ALABAMA – For the first time in its almost nine-year existence the Alabama – NW Florida PGA Junior Tour is introducing an advertising campaign titled “Let’s Go Play.”  The campaign utilizes verbiage that is common in the game today portraying a casual and non-intimidating invitation to junior golfers and their parents to participate in the Junior Tour and other special events the Section offers.

“Since our Junior Tour conducts its tournaments during the summer, this campaign will play a pivotal role in getting juniors out on to the golf course by providing them an opportunity to compete amongst their friends and peers,” says AL-NW  FL PGA Executive Director, Bart Rottier. “Let’s Go Play” also benefits the parents of those junior golfers by serving as not only a reminder, but a mindset to keep kids active and healthy during the summer months. Golf serves many benefits for juniors both physically and mentally, and the Alabama – NW Florida PGA Junior Tour provides juniors a way to stay moving and physically healthy through its diverse schedule of 30 events during the summer season.

“Let’s Go Play” takes the initiative to introduce new golfers to the sport by using a non-intimidating, relaxed approach and by appealing to golfers of all skill levels.  The Alabama – NW Florida PGA Junior Tour is focused on developing junior golfers in to elite players who are ready to ascend to higher ranks in the sport.  “Let’s Go Play” is the perfect invitation to allow juniors golfers, regardless of skill level or background, the opportunity to play the sport and continue developing their skills through competition. The campaign also gives both players and parents a new way to engage in all activities and events the Junior Tour and Section have to offer, and celebrates the inclusive nature that the game of golf provides.

Additionally, “Let’s Go Play” will serve as a Section-wide initiative by ensuring individuals of all backgrounds are welcomed and encouraged to participate in the game of golf. The focus of this campaign will be to break down the barriers that inhibit involvement with the game.  By leveraging the resources and programming provided by the Alabama – NW Florida PGA Section and the invitation exemplified by “Let’s Go Play,” the PGA Professional will be elevated tremendously by creating more opportunities to get involved with the Section and Junior Tour events, which in turn, will enhance the sport and business of golf in the Section.

“We consider this campaign to be just the beginning for our Section as we move towards our goal of establishing a more diverse slate of programming focused on junior golf in Alabama and the Florida Panhandle,” says Operations Manager, Hayden Lewis, PGA. “Our hope is that we can provide juniors the platform to develop their skills while also serving our PGA Members, and giving them additional opportunities to grow the game and enhance their careers.”  The Junior Tour has already added two new “season kickoff” events to its schedule in May at the brand new Topgolf locations in Birmingham and Huntsville.  Additionally, the Tour plans to roll out tournaments with new formatting and playing styles over the next year.

Membership registration for the 2018 Alabama – NW Florida PGA Junior Tour season is now open.  This includes access to 30 events across the state of Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.
