The Alabama – NW Florida PGA is host to over 400 PGA Members and Associates. The mission of the Alabama – NW Florida PGA is to serve the PGA Members and grow the game of golf. We accomplish this by enhancing the skills of our Members, and in doing so, the Section elevates the standards of our PGA Professionals’ purpose, enhances the economic well-being of the individual member, and stimulates interest in the game across the state of Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.

We truly believe every PGA Professional is on the front lines of making the game of golf special for thousands across Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. Each Member and Associate brings a special skill set to the table and, in turn, creates a dynamic touchpoint for the game of golf.

As the industry’s leaders and faces of the game, PGA Professionals serve as recognized teachers and experts in the game and passionately promote its growth across our Section. PGA Professionals have numerous opportunities to pursue exciting careers within the golf industry including golf operations, teaching and coaching, and executive management. PGA Members also have the opportunity to compete in numerous tournaments throughout the country on some of the top-ranked courses in the world.  There are two paths to attaining PGA Membership:

• The Associate Program – To become a PGA Member, you’ll need to become a registered Associate before completing the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA PGM) Program–an award-winning educational program designed for aspiring PGA Professionals that focuses on the People, the Business, and the Game.
• The University Program – The PGA Golf Management University Program, accredited by The Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA), is a college degree program designed to attract and educate bright, highly motivated men and women to service all aspects of the industry and produce PGA Members.
• The Affiliate Program – Want to become a PGA Member, but not yet working in golf?  Begin in the Affiliate Program, to eventually become a PGA Associate and work toward PGA Membership.  This allows you to complete Level 1 of the award-winning education program designed for aspiring PGA Professionals that focuses on the People, the Business, and the Game.
