Wedgeworth Wins Fourth Stroke Play
The fourth Stroke Play Series event of the year took place on Monday, July 13th, at Burnt Pine Country Club at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. This is the fourth of six tournaments with players competing for an additional purse based on cumulative point totals.
Jackson Wedgeworth, Assistant Men’s Golf Coach at UAB, was the low score of the day at 4-under-par 68 as he sank five birdies to win.
The leaderboard also saw a solid round from Christian Bosso, Cam Page, and Mike Genovese, who finished 2-under-par 70, and tied for second. Jordan DeBonis finished fifth with a 1-under-par 71 round.
Luke Wilson, Dominic Diaz, and Matt Caister finished 1-over par to tie for sixth place. Rounding out the top 10 was Ben Bates and Carter Goodwin who finished tied for ninth with a 2-over-par 74 round.
After four events, Goodwin continues to lead the Stroke Play Series Points List with 132.00 points.
