Team Championship Tie
The final event of the year was one for the books. The 2024 Team Championship was held at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club in Destin, Florida, and ended with two teams at the top of the leaderboard. Patrick Richardson/Brennan Dolnick and Brad Story/Jordan DeBonis finished 20-under par to tie.
Each team consisted of two Alabama – NW Florida Section Professionals or Associates. The tournament format was 18 holes of Scramble for the first round, while the second round was 18 holes of Shamble.
In addition to the competition on the course, everyone was fighting the weather as well. After the first round, the teams played another nine holes Monday afternoon, attempting to beat the storms. The final nine holes were played Tuesday morning to finish the tournament.
Richardson/Dolnick had a strong first round, shooting 12-under par and taking a two-stroke lead ahead of Dylan Moncus/Cam Page and Mike Giammaresi/Madison Williams who were in second.
Story/DeBonis had a great second round, shooting 12-under par to jump from tied for sixth into a tie with Richardson/Dolnick. With the rain rolling in, the Championship was declared a tie in place of a playoff.
