Junior Golfers Shine Across Four Drive, Chip and Putt Local Qualifiers

The road to Augusta officially kicked off this summer as the Section hosted four highly successful Drive, Chip and Putt local qualifiers across the state of Alabama. Young competitors showcased incredible talent, determination, and sportsmanship across all age divisions, taking their first step toward the National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club.

The qualifying action began on June 4th at RTJ Golf Trail at Magnolia Grove in Mobile, followed by a fantastic day of competition at Bent Brook Golf Course in Bessemer on June 23rd. The momentum rolled right into July with our final two events, starting at RTJ Golf Trail at Silver Lakes on July 6th and wrapping up at RTJ Golf Trail at Hampton Cove on July 8th.

At each site, junior golfers competed in separate boys’ and girls’ divisions across four age categories (7–9, 10–11, 12–13, and 14–15), racking up points through all three skills competitions: Drive, Chip, and Putt.

Following these four local events, the top three overall point-earners in each of the boys’ and girls’ divisions from the four age categories have officially punched their tickets to the next level. These talented qualifiers will advance to the Sub-Regional, hosted at the RTJ Golf Trail at Capitol Hill in Prattville on Sunday, August 9th.
