Bailey Brings Home Section Championship
The 2025 Alabama – NW Florida PGA Professional Championship, presented by Club Car, Corebridge Financial, and Rolex, was held at Pine Tree Country Club in Birmingham, Ala., on September 8-9.
Monday morning marked the beginning of the tournament as players vied for one of the top four qualifying spots for the 2026 PGA Professional Championship at Bandon Dunes in Bandon, Ore., on April 26-29, 2026.
At the end of the first round of play, Paul McClure was at the top of the leaderboard at 1-under-par 71. Todd Bailey, David Hanson, and Shea Balch tied for the second-place spot at 73.
Following play on Monday night, Club Car/Jerry Pate Company, in conjunction with the Section and the Pine Tree Country Club, hosted a Player’s Party. This event allowed our Section Members to connect informally off the course. Dinner and drinks were served, and there was even a special putting contest held.
Bailey continued his solid play on Tuesday with a round of 1-under par to claim the Section Championship with rounds of 73-71–144. The victory was Bailey’s second Section Championship title.
Hanson held on to second place with a total of 3-over-par 147.
Peyton made five birdies to match Bailey with a second-round score of 1-under par. That round moved him up to a tie for third place with McClure at 4-over-par 148.
Bailey, Hanson, Peyton, and McClure earned the four qualifying spots for the 2026 PGA Professional Championship.
Dominic Diaz took the first alternate position, while Parker Milam and Kevan Maxwell took the second and third spots, respectively.
