We are thrilled to announce the 2020 Alabama-NW Florida PGA Hall of Fame Inductees — going above and beyond to service the Section and the game of golf throughout their careers, these individuals have left impacting legacies.  We will honor the 2020 class at our Annual Meeting Monday, February 10.  Learn a little more about each inductee below:

ROBERT B. BARRETT, PGA

Co-founder of Honours Golf (a division of Troon), Robert operates 11 golf courses in the Alabama-NW Florida Section as well as many others in the southeast.  Prior to Honours Golf, Robert was the Head Golf Professional at Shoal Creek during the two PGA Championships.  Additionally, he was awarded the national PGA Merchandiser of the Year Award in 1986.

TRAVIS HUDSON, PGA

Director of Golf at Musgrove Country Club from 1969 through 1994.  Mr. Hudson was a mentor to many current PGA professionals in our section.  An accomplished player, Hudson also participated in the first two U.S. Senior Opens with a top-twenty finish in the inaugural event.  A natural coach & a Member of the Section for twenty-six years, Travis continually found ways to be creative in teaching the game to people.

JIM BROTHERTON, JR., PGA

A PGA Master Professional, Jim was awarded the 2003 PGA of America Golf Professional of the Year.  Additionally, Jim is a Member of the PGA of America’s Hall of Fame and was the first Head Golf Professional at Old Overton Club — he held this position for 23 years.  Further, Jim has become an instrumental figure in the recent fundraising efforts and success for the Section’s Foundation.

TOMMY BURNS, PGA

Elected to PGA Membership in 1978 as the Head Golf Professional at Selma Country Club, Tommy succeeded his father and has held this position for over forty years.  Tommy still remains a popular figure and has led the way in growing the game of golf in the Selma community — Tommy joins his father, Bud, in the Section Hall of Fame.

DAVE ATNIP, PGA

A key figure early on in Section governance after separating from the Georgia Section, Dave served as President of the Dixie Section from 1975 to 1976.  During his time in governance he held the Head Golf Professional positions at Arrowhead Country Club, Huntsville Country Club and Eglin Air Force Base.
