#LETSGOPLAY Player Spotlight
The Alabama - NW Florida PGA Junior Tour is designed to be the most valuable competitive golf experience for juniors in the state of Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. The Tour is designed exclusively to break down barriers to participation in the game of golf through tournament play, and by developing talent to ensure participants are ready to ascend to higher ranks in the sport.
This bi-monthly blog series highlights Tour members and give them ownership of the Junior Tour. Our Tour motto is #LETSGOPLAY meaning we are always ready to play golf, and welcome others who love to play and be around the game as much as we do. #LETSGOPLAY is not just for current Junior Tour members, we want to encourage all junior golfers to get more involved with the game and give them a place to play no matter what their background is.

Q: When did you start playing golf and how did you get introduced to it?
A: I began playing golf when I was five. When I was four years old I would wake up at 4:30 in the morning and watch the Golf Channel while eating breakfast. I also loved to play putt putt!
Q: Who is your favorite golfer?
A: My favorite golfer is Tiger Woods, because of all the amazing shots he has made. For instance, at the 2002 PGA Championships, 3rd round, he was behind a tree in a fairway bunker at 210 yards out and used a 3-iron to place the ball within 5 feet of the hole.
Q: Who would be in your dream foursome?
A: Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Watson and Sergio Garcia. I would have Tiger and Sergio because of their awesome shots they have hit in their golf careers. Sergio is a must because anyone who can hit a ball backwards out of an oak tree is an amazing golfer! Phil for his short game and of course because of his ability to hit a chip backwards and almost sink it is someone I want in my foursome. Finally, Tom because of the competitiveness he has had since the beginning of his golf career.
Q: What has been your favorite part about playing on the AL-NW FL PGA Junior Tour this season?
A: My favorite part of the Alabama-NW Florida PGA Junior Tour is the opportunity to play on so many different courses and meeting other golfers my age.
Q: What is the most memorable shot you’ve had on the Junior Tour so far this season?
A: The best shot that I’ve made on the tour was at the FarmLinks Golf Course on Hole #4. I was on the hill above the left side of the green, and the hole was 5 feet away from the edge of the green on the side I was closest to. In between the hole and myself was a hill about 1 foot tall, but the peak of the hill was about 2 feet above the hole. I imagined myself landing the ball on a spot on the hill that was the size of a quarter. I took my swing and did the exact thing I wanted and left the ball within 3 feet of the hole.
Q: What is your favorite golf course you have played?
A: My favorite course that I have ever played is Farmlinks GC in Sylacauga, AL. The course is extremely well kept and is very diverse with the different types of grass on each hole.
Q: What do you want to be when you get older?
A: I want to become a pro golfer, because I never get bored playing the game and there is always a chance to play on a new and different course all over the world.
Q: What is your favorite activity to do outside of golf?
A: I play basketball because it is another sport I enjoy playing, but not nearly as much as golf!
