PGA Jr. League

Be A Game Changer

An Update Regarding COVID-19 and the 2020 Postseason

PGA Jr. League is targeting June 1 as the earliest date to allow local league play to resume, provided that the resumption of activities shall only be allowed in localities that are currently in Phase II of the Opening Up America Again guidelines.

Due to the ever-increasing risks associate with the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, the 2020 PGA Jr. League postseason has been cancelled – this includes Section Championships, Regional Championships and the National Championship.  We recognize these events create fun, unique, and life-lasting memories for participating players. There are a number of reasons for making this difficult decision, including:

  • It prioritizes health by not hosting any events requiring air travel.
  • With counties and states having different timelines for reaching Phase II, it maximizes flexibility for local league schedules throughout 2020.
  • It creates clarity going into the season about our focus on local league play.

What is PGA Jr.League?

PGA Jr. League is a game-changing opportunity for boys and girls to learn and play golf. The program brings family and friends together around fun, team golf experiences with expert coaching from PGA and LPGA Professionals.

FORMAT & RULES

PGA Jr. League is all about the recreational and developmental nature of regular season matches, held between March 1 and July 31.

During the course of one game, teams play four 9-hole matches in a popular two-person scramble format, reinforcing the team concept and creating a nurturing environment for learning the game. Coaches can also substitute players every three holes, so that all of the golfers on each team can participate.  Conditions of Play
